Corporate social responsibility and advocacy nelle sfide internazionali
In recent years, the world of cooperation for development and business have developed an important synergy in view of growing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals dictated by the Agenda2030 and the role of profit actors that have decided to undertake corporate actions devoted to development aid and advocacy for the nonprofit.
Moreover, the international crises that disrupt international contexts today (from the recent war in Ukraine to the less recent but frozen conflicts, like in Nagorno-Karabakh) focus on how important it is for companies and organisations to support the effort of actors involved in these contexts, strengthening their identity and helping in development of reconstruction actions.
In this rapidly changing context, public and private institutions, businesses, financial operators, civil society, and non-profit actors operate and interact.
In order to better manage this complexity, and also following the reform of the Third and Voluntary Sector in Italy, there is a growing need for qualified professionals who are able to analyse, understand, design strategies and actively contribute to the various decision-making and investment processes, identifying the most strategically correct choices for those operating, in various ways, in the world of CSR and advocacy.
The course aims to provide the necessary tools to:
- know how to orient oneself in the advocacy world at national and international level;
- understand and imagine actions of profit and non-profit actors to support corporate social responsibility activities and the evolution towards environmental, social and corporate governance;
- work in crisis and development support contexts;
- strengthen their analytical capacities.
The course integrates theoretical and analytical tools of International Relations, Cooperation for Development and Advocacy, with practical examples of case studies and crisis response methodologies. During the educational and training programme, the following focus will be analized: the importance of economic and political scenarios; the role of profit and non-profit actors; the development factors and their threats; possible future challenges for the world of CSR and advocacy.
The course is designed to offer a thematic study to those with a background in social sciences (political sciences, economics, law) with a specific interest in the political and economic dynamics of cooperation for development.
It will take place in Italian in the afternoons from 20 to 24 June 2022.
