Estimation and Comparison of Unauthorized Migration in Europe and the United States
23/01/2020, Rome, Istituto Affari Internazionali
Discussion on the Pew Research Center report "Europe’s Unauthorized Immigrant Population Peaks in 2016, Then Levels Off" with Phillip Connor, Senior researcher, Pew Research Center, and author of the report, introduced and moderated by Luca Barana, Researcher, Istituto Affari Internazionali.
The report, synthesising the results of a new Pew Research Center analysis, offers the most recent estimates of Europe’s unauthorized immigrant population since the EU-funded Clandestino project in 2008. It also provides data on the demographic characteristics of this population across 32 EU and EFTA countries. In light of this new research, the discussion will focus on immigration trends both in Europe and worldwide.
