The Geopolitics of Transatlantic Economic and Technology Cooperation
The 15th edition of the Transatlantic Symposium, the annual forum where experts and officials from the US, the EU and other countries discuss the main items in the transatlantic agenda, was held on 22 April 2024 at the premises of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) in Rome. It was the occasion to discuss the results of papers written by Europeans and Americans on four macro-themes (industrial policy; control of foreign direct investments; control of exports of dual-use technologies and materials; restrictive measures and sanctions).
As in past editions, the Symposium saw both European and American experts attend alongside diplomats from Italy, the EU, France, Poland, Spain and Sweden.
IAI organised the Symposium in cooperation with the policy planning unit (Unità d’Analisi e Programmazione) of the MAECI.
The Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the US Embassy to Italy provided generous financial support for the initiative.
