L’industria italiana dell’aerospazio, sicurezza e difesa: sfide e opportunità
A joint workshop between the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and the Istituto Affari Internazionali as part of the public consultations for the development of the White Paper on industrial policy.
On 16 January 2025, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy, MIMiT) hosted a joint workshop at its Rome headquarters, organised with the IAI, aimed at gathering input from aerospace, security and defence companies operating in Italy. The event featured over 45 attendees in the room and another ten online, representing large industries, small and medium-sized enterprises and trade associations. Representatives from the Ministry of Defence contributed to the discussion. The half-day event, divided into two sessions, was co-moderated by managers from the MIMiT Research Office and senior researchers from IAI.
The event brought together concise and incisive insights in an informal, inclusive, closed-door debate based on the Chatham House Rule. The aim was to inform the Ministry's reflections on the challenges and opportunities for this sector and the most appropriate industrial policies to implement, as part of the elaboration of the White Paper on Industrial Policy, within a whole-of-government and whole-of-country approach.
