General course overview

A geopolitical area of ​​various definitions, the Middle East remains one of the most complex chessboards to analyze. In fact, there are numerous interests of regional and global actors that contribute to making the area both central and unstable. The course explores the complex dynamics of conflict and instability with a particular emphasis on maritime security in the context of political and economic transitions in the Middle East. Through an analysis of strategic maritime routes, threats to freedom of navigation and global challenges such as piracy, terrorism and energy security, the course offers tools to understand the role of international relations in managing regional and global tensions.
