What happens after finding refuge? The integration of Syrian refugees in Germany and Turkey

Workshop in the framework of the research project Global Turkey in Europe, in cooperation with Stiftung Mercator, Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) and Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS).

The event will offer a timely opportunity to discuss the issue of the integration of refugees in the light of the experiences of two leading refugee-hosting countries - Germany and Turkey. Focusing both on the institutional-legal framework at the national level and looking at some specific examples at the city level, namely, Berlin and Istanbul, the participants will discuss and identify the continuing challenges, effective practices, and future prospects regarding the integration of Syrian refugees in particular, and refugee integration in general.
