Young Europeans' Talks - La mia Europa

The conference on the future of Europe (CoFoE) is an important initiative of democratic debate that is taking place all around the continent to survey the opinions of the European citizens about the future of the European Union. In the framework of these consultations, the citizens will be encouraged to share their ideas about the next priorities that the EU institutions should take care of, and consider possible institutional changes. In order to implement this EU-wide initiative in Italy, the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) and the Centro Studi sul federalism (CSF), in cooperation with Noisiamofuturo^® and the Collegio Carlo Alberto, will be organizing an important event in Turin titled "La mia Europa" (my Europe). The event, involving mainly high-school and university students, is scheduled for the 22th of February. The meeting will be focused on the topic "Democracy, Rule of law and Security", inspired by the panel event n.2 organized by the EU Parliament in Strasbourg the last September. The attendees will be engaged in different focus groups to discuss the theme at the centre of this initiative, and eventually asked to present their conclusions during the Plenary session. The final recommendations produced by this moment of reflection and exchange will be gathered by the Istituto Affari Internazionali in a policy paper addressed to the policymakers. The organization of this meeting is connected to the "Young European Talks", a series of events promoted by the IAI to link citizens and institutions in the CoFoE groundwork in Italy.
