The EU & Northeast Asia
IAI’s Asia programme has published a number of studies on EU policy in Northeast Asia, examining the role of the European Union in the economic, security and trust building domains in a region where intra-state tensions are on the rise. Papers examine the role of the EU in the context of the Korean Peninsula and the Six-Party Talks, the evolving relations between Europe and South Korea and the EU’s potential role in fostering regional cooperation. A further study examines the implications of recent North Korean nuclear and ballistic missile tests on South Korea and the United States.
