In Search of EU's Strategic Autonomy
The outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic has put to test EU’s cohesion and effectiveness not only with regards to its internal governance, but also in relation to its strategic partnerships with neighbouring countries, starting from the enlargement countries in the Western Balkans. Can the ongoing debate about European strategic autonomy give new impetus to EU-Western Balkans relations?
The IAI will organize the webinar "In Search of EU Strategic Autonomy: What Role for EU Enlargement Policy?" on May 17, 2021, from 10am to 11.30am. Among the participants, Natalia Sanginiti (Deputy Head, Unit for External relations of the EU, DG for the European Union, Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation), Ettore Greco (Executive Vice President/ Head of the Multilateralism and global governance programme, Istituto Affari Internazionali) and Matteo Bonomi (Research Fellow, Istituto Affari Internazionali).
