Mediterranean: Geopolitics in a New Age
The EU is no longer the dominant actor in the Mediterranean, now having to deal with the tangible influence of major and regional powers like the United States, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Turkey and Israel. A new IAI volume sheds light on this issue - on how these powers have been constructing different geopolitical imaginations of what the EU has always called the Mediterranean region, and how their identity formations have impacted their role.
