Tunisia: Security and Democracy

A number of recent IAI papers tackle the difficult challenges facing Tunisia, from an analysis of socio-economic and political indicators since the revolution, to a study of Tunisia’s youth policies and the EU’s approach to south Mediterranean countries. Described as the one success story of the Arab uprisings, conflict and insecurity in Tunisia’s neighbourhood are placing serious strains on democratic consolidation in the country.
