Europe and the Future Combat Air System

Europe is divided regarding the future of European air forces and aerospace industries. The Franco-German FCAS project and the British "Tempest" compete with each other in developing a next generation fighter aircraft. An IAI study assesses the situation in Europe and the US and recommends that Italy cooperates with the UK, while continuing to pursue convergence of the two initiatives into a single project to the benefit of Europe's defence and strategic autonomy.
