Editorial internship (tirocinio curricolare)

The Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), based in Rome (Italy), is looking for an Intern to support the editorial team of The International Spectator.

    Eligibility

    • The internship is open to Bachelor’s and Master's degree students, especially in the fields of international relations, political science, languages, arts and media studies, who must complete a tirocinio curricolare (unpaid internship) as part of their curriculum
    • Candidates must be based at a university that has a “convenzione” (Internship agreement) with the Istituto Affari Internazionali
    • Candidates must have excellent (C2 CEFR level) English writing and communication skills; Fluency or proficiency in Italian is a plus
    • An interest in international and current affairs is required
    • Familiarity with social media and online communication is a plus

      Duration

      The internship consists of 300 hours of work, to be completed between January and April 2022 (Spring term internship) and between May and July 2022 (Summer term internship).  

      Tasks

      • Proofreading articles, newsletters and other journal-related content
      • Collecting data on the journal’s activities
      • Helping manage the social media accounts and the blog of the journal
      • Supporting the journal’s editors in managing The International Spectator

      Terms & Conditions

      The position is unpaid.

      The selected candidate will be offered the opportunity to attend one of the training courses of the Institute free of charge. The chosen course must start within a year of the start of the internship. If the chosen course coincides in whole or in part with the internship, hours of attendance are not to be considered part of the internship.

      The internship may be carried out either on a remote working basis or (conditional on Covid-19 regulations) in person.
