UNITE – against environmental crimes
The project aims at providing a full understanding of the environmental crimes taking place between South East Asian countries and EU Member States. Building on the methodology developed for the Ambitus project, the aim is to analyse past, present and future trends on environmental crimes taking place between the two regions. It will also debate operative and legislative obstacles to face these threats, particularly concerning limits to SEA-EU cooperation, and offer solutions and tools on a variety of levels – political, societal, economic and technological. The project will envisage extensive work on the field in South East Asia and a number of workshops with Law Enforcement Agencies, NGOs, international institutions and other partners. UNITE will be realised with the support of the OCLAESP Office of the French Gendarmerie and will be finalised into a report in the first half of 2024.
