The Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), based in Rome, (Italy), is hiring a Researcher for projects on multilateral cooperation regarding in particular non-proliferation and disarmament issues.
His/her activities will include:
- Research;
- Writing and editing of research reports, analysis and commentaries for publication;
- Participating as a speaker in seminars and conferences;
- Coordinating the organisation of seminars and conferences;
- Updating databases, newsletters and websites.
The researcher will perform these tasks mainly – but not exclusively – in the framework of the "Multilateralism and Global Governance" programme and related projects, in particular the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC) project.
Qualifications:
- Master degree or PhD in progress in one o more of the following academic areas: political science, international and diplomatic relations, diplomatic studies, international law or other relevant specialisations;
- at least three years of work or study experience in international projects, including the organisation of seminars and conferences;
- excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken);
- strong synthesis and writing skills;
- good knowledge of the MS Office package.
Other requirements:
- organizational skills;
- ability to hand in deliverables on time;
- ability to work in a team;
- experience with grant-making initiatives funded by the EU.
A good working knowledge of the Italian language would be an asset.
What we are offering
The successful candidate will be offered a term contract lasting from 1 January to 31 December 2025, with the possibility of renewal. The remuneration foreseen for the above-mentioned contract is € 25,200.00 - paid in equal monthly installments with relative tax and social security deductions as provided by law.
