What Next in Libya? Between Mediation and Intervention

A IAI research document analyses current developments in Libya in light of the worsening security and political conditions in the country and appearance of Islamic State militants in close vicinity to the Mediterranean. As UN mandated peace talks continue, the paper assesses various obstacles to mediation attempts while providing a number of policy recommendations to help create conditions for a necessary political rapprochement between the parties.
