ISIS, Foreign Fighters and EU Security

Recent IAI papers focus on the root causes of radicalisation in the Mediterranean region, examining the phenomena of foreign fighters travelling to join extremist groups and the broader impact of these trends on European and transatlantic security. From the Islamic State, to the migration crisis, a crumbling Libya and the conflict in Syria, the Mediterranean has emerged as the epicentre of new security threats that are likely to dominate the agenda for years ahead.
