IAI Conference: The Geopolitics of East Asia

IAI, in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Rome, organised a conference on regional geopolitics in East Asia on 27 February. Coordinated by the Institute’s Asia Programme, the conference hosted two speakers and provided insight on recent developments tied to maritime security and the role of the ASEAN in the region. A number of IAI publications address these issues from the standpoint of various actors, beginning from the role of Japan, China and the EU. The papers are part of an ongoing IAI project run in cooperation with the Korea Foundation on Trust-Building in North East Asia.
