The Struggle for Ukraine: Progress post-Euromaidan and Challenges in 2019

After almost five years of post-Euromaidan governance, Ukraine continues to fight for its survival as an independent and viable state. Despite sealing the landmark EU association agreement, continuing to resist Russian military aggression, and delivering on policy reforms in a wide range of areas, Ukraine continues to face a number of challenges. In 2019 the country will face two crucial elections. In March Ukrainians will go to the polls to elect the Presidential and in October – the new parliament.
Drawing on findings from the Chatham House report on Ukraine, panellists will discuss prospects for Ukraine’s future, state of conflict in the East of Ukraine, and outline risks and opportunities that arise from the electoral process.
