Munich: The Security Conference

In a context of international security troubled by US decisions to withdraw from the nuclear treaty with Iran and the INF treaty with Russia, start troops withdrawals from Syria and Afghanistan and question its commitment to NATO, the Munich conference on global security, scheduled from 15 to 17 February, is of particular importance this year. The conference will be attended, among others, by US Vice President Mike Pence, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy  Federica Mogherini, and Italian Minister of Defence Elisabetta Trenta. IAI Director Nathalie Tocci moderates the opening sessions of the event.
