Third ETTG Annual Dialogue on the EU and Global Development

This report is a culmination of a stimulating discussion held in Rome on 8-9 April 2024, which brought together over 30 key figures for a closed-door event. The Rome event featured a diverse group of participants, including EU policymakers, representatives from member states, leading think tanks, and renowned experts. Hosted by the Spanish Ambassador in Rome, the program began with a welcome dinner followed by a full day of in-depth discussions. The central theme of the event was navigating the multifaceted challenges facing the EU’s global development efforts. Participants tackled critical issues arising from geopolitical tensions, climate change, internal EU dynamics, global competition, and shifting narratives surrounding development.
