An Italian-German dialogue on industrial decarbonisation: a focus on the automotive and steel industries in the context of the energy transition

This project aims to strengthen coordination between Italy and Germany on industrial energy transition both bilaterally and at the European level. To achieve this, closed-door workshops will be organised with experts, representatives of institutions and the private sector from the two countries to discuss the political, technological and geopolitical implications and strategies of industrial transformation, particularly in automotive and steel. The goal is also to understand how the two countries can strengthen cooperation, accelerate transition and preserve industrial competitiveness. The findings will also help in the formulation of recommendations for policymakers.
The project also includes the publication of an in-depth study for each sector, which will be presented separately at two public events in Berlin and Rome.
