Promoting stability and development in Africa: How to foster cooperation between public and private sector

The aim of this project - launched by a kick-off meeting in Brussels on 3 July 2014 and a conference in Turin on 1-2 December 2014 - is to evaluate how public and private sector can collaborate and contribute in achieving the objectives of sustainable development, governance and security in Sub-Saharan Africa, starting from the case studies of Ethiopia, Mozambique, Nigeria and South Africa.
The research is conducted in collaboration with the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) in Brussels, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affaris, and the participation of the Centro Piemontese di Studi Africani. [= Piemontese Center for African Studies].
The results of the research will be available on the websites of the research partners as well as in the volume "Promoting Stability and Development in Africa: How to Foster Cooperation between Public and Private Sectors" published by IAI (IAI Research Papers No. 21). The project also envisages the organization of a series of events aiming at disseminating and debating the results of the research. These events include, among others, a seminar in Turin on 9 July 2015 and a final conference in Brussels on 10 February 2016.
