SHARAKA - Enhancing Understanding and Cooperation in EU-GCC Relations

This two-year project explored ways of promoting relations between the European Union (EU) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by undertaking policy-oriented research, outreach and training activities. The overall goal of the project was to strengthen the cooperation between the EU and the GCC, focusing on the key strategic areas identified in the Joint Action Programme of 2010, such as trade and finance, energy and transport. The project, implemented by a consortium of five European and Gulf-based institutes led by IAI, was divided into 10 work packages.
