Syrian refugees in Lebanon: what impact?

«As you might know, Lebanon hosts more than 1.5 millions of Syrian refugees. This has come definitively with problems in the Lebanese society and economy but I would like to argue that the Syrian refugee presence has been more beneficial, for the Lebanese economy, than it was negative. The society has been making money on the shoulders of the poor Syrian refugees and as a society we should admit this» says Jad Chaaban, Associate Professor of the American University of Beirut (AUB)
