Reporting Framework for the G7 HAIP Code of Conduct

The Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), on behalf of the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, organized the hand-over event of the activities of the G7 Digital and Technology Working Group from the Italian to the Canadian Presidency of G7. At the event the representatives of the governments of Canada, Italy and Japan reaffirmed their shared desire to ensure continuity between the three Presidencies of G7 with regard to their commitment to advance global digital governance.

The event, was held in Rome, at the Sala Polifunzionale of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, on 4 February 2025.

The discussion focused on the main achievements of the Italian G7 Presidency on the topic of AI governance and the next steps to be taken under the Canadian Presidency in 2025. A central theme was, in particular, the framework for monitoring the implementation of the Code of Conduct developed under the Italian G7 Presidency with the support of the OECD.
