Tackling the Russian crimes in Ukraine: the EU sanction regime and the establishment of the Special Tribunal for Ukraine
On May 30 (10:00-12:00), the Vice President of the European Parliament Pina Picierno will host a conference at the European Parliament (Brussels) concerning the EU response to Russian aggression in Ukraine, focusing on restrictive measures against Russia and prosecuting Russian crimes in Ukraine. Due to the current developments and the crucial role played by the EU, the conference would aim to have an exchange of views on the recent achievements and challenges in these two realms.
The conference will consist of two separate panels: the EU sanction regime and establishing the Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. By combining analytical and normative expertise, the conference would help unpack the inherent complexity and future developments of restrictive measures’ implementation and the Special Tribunal’s establishment.
