Main responsibilities in the position

The Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), based in Rome (Italy), is seeking to hire a Researcher or Senior Fellow to work in the Multilateralism and Global Governance Programme with a focus on the following issues:

  • International economic cooperation
  • Global finance
  • Challenges of technological innovation
  • Development cooperation


His/her tasks will include:

  • Research;
  • Writing and editing of research reports, analysis and commentaries for publication;
  • Coordinating the organisation of seminars and conferences and drafting reports about their results;
  • Coordinating national and international research groups;
  • Participating as a speaker in seminars and conferences;
  • Participating with the Programme's fundraising and networking activities
  • Coordinating the xternal communication on projects for which s/he is responsible.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Have a PhD or be a PhD candidate in economics, political science or law, with a thesis on economic issues
  • Professional experience in research at national and/or international research institutions, governmental institutions, international organizations, NGOs
  • Full English proficiency;
  • Familiarity with grant-making initiatives funded by the EU and other public and private entities (e.g. Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment. 

Preferential qualifications:

  • Excellent Italian communication and writing skills


What we are offering

The successful candidate will be offered a 16-month contract lasting from September 1st 2024 (tentative date) to December 31st, 2025, with the possibility of renewal. The annual offered salary ranges from € 33.600,00 to € 38.400,00 gross - commensurate with the candidate's profile and previous experience - paid in equal monthly installments with relative tax and social security deductions as provided by law.
