Turkey’s Trade and Economy at the Crossroads

Three IAI publications from the Global Turkey in Europe project focus on the challenges and opportunities confronting the Turkish economy. A first paper analyses the causes and government strategies to overcome Turkey’s current account deficit, while a second focusses on three possible scenarios to strengthen Turkey’s trade relations, assessing the benefits of a US-Turkey FTA, an enhanced Customs Union with the EU or a means for Turkey’s participation in the TTIP. A final paper analyses EU-Turkish economic relations in the context of the TTIP and the existing Customs Union.
