Nexus25 - Munich Security Conference side event
Nexus25, a transatlantic effort led by the Istituto Affari Internazionali and Center for Climate and Security, will be hosting its third annual side event at the Munich Security Conference on February 16. This conversation, organized in partnership with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), will center on the links between hunger, climate, and sustainable security.
Featured speakers include WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain, Norwegian Minister Anne Beathe Tvinnereim, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Iris Ferguson, and Ambassador Ahmed Abdel-Latif. They will be joined by over 20 other leaders from multilateral organizations, national governments, civil society, security institutions, and the private sector.
This discussion is part of a series of Nexus25 meetings with a diverse range of bilateral and multilateral stakeholders throughout 2024. Nexus25 is funded by Stiftung Mercator, one of the largest private foundations in Germany. Future Nexus25 discussions will be held on the sidelines of the World Bank Spring Meetings and in Rome ahead of COP29.
