Rely On Space – Requirements and Landscaping Study on Space Cooperation Opportunities for the Arctic Region

The project aimed at mapping requirements and opportunities for cooperation between EU Member States in the space sector concerning the Arctic region. First, the study defined some deployement scenarios and then end-users requirements in terms of military capabilities in the Arctic area, mostly in the satellite communications domain, but also in those of Earth observation and satellite navigation and positioning. Second, the project focused on a gap analysis between the capabilities needed in the region, the currently available capabilities, and planned systems and services, in order to identify relevant opportunities for collaboration. Third, a series of proposals concerning cooperation opportunities were submitted on the basis of the gap analysis.
