The future of the European Neighbourhood Policy
In the framework of the “Citizens’ dialogues” initiative promoted by the European Commission, a series of conferences on the major crises affecting the European neighbourhood were organised by IAI in collaboration with the Representation of the European Commission in Italy, University of Trento, University of Catania and Centro Studi sul Federalismo (CSF) of Torino. The seminars focused on two crisis theatres: Ukraine in the east and Libya in the south. Following the analysis and the discussion on these cases among experts and stakeholders, a number of proposals for the ongoing review of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) were drawn. Three meetings were held in Trento, Catania and Turin. Each conference included the presentation of a background paper to be discussed among the participants and the redaction of a policy report. The reflections arisen during the seminars were taken into consideration for the preparation of a final policy paper on the future of the ENP that was delivered to the High Representative.
