IAI-Eni Strategic Partnership
The IAI-Eni strategic partnership aims to promote research and discussion on the key issues of the energy sector by analysing various aspects related to socio-political, economic, industrial and technological dimensions. The energy sector faces multiple challenges, such as the fight against climate change, the development of a just transition, and evolving geopolitical dynamics. The goal of the partnership is to develop tools that enhance understanding of these challenges.
Until July 2024, the partnership was structured around three pillars: research and analysis, dissemination and training, and international debate. Since the second half of 2024, the initiative has been organised into two components: research, which focuses on research and analysis activities, and international debate, which revolves around disseminating the main findings on energy issues with experts and the interested public.
Research activities include a series of publications in English curated by the Institute to critically analyse key aspects of the energy sector and the impact of major geopolitical developments on the energy transition and on climate efforts.
To facilitate dissemination to the interested public and foster international debate, IAI and Eni collaborate to organise public events featuring international speakers. These events aim to promote engagement between institutions, private actors, and experts.
The project also involves organizing a series of briefings on main issues in international relations and their impact on the energy sector. Among the major topics for these briefings, a specific focus is spent on understanding multilateral climate negotiations.
