IAI-Eni Strategic Partnership
The initiative – in collaboration with Eni – aims at analyzing the challenges and huge opportunities related to energy transitions worldwide, assessing and rising awareness on their impact on societies, industries, technologies and economies. As a key enabler of development energy drives the evolution of human societies, nevertheless facing the severe challenges of our time - climate change, low access, an ever-evolving geopolitical framework.
The aim of the IAI-Eni partnership is to provide instruments for a better understanding of this dynamic sector. The project is articulated on three levels: analysis and content; dissemination and training; international debate.
Among the analysis activities, the institute publishes a series of “Sustainable Energy Transition” papers to critically analyze sensitize civil society and students on aspects of political-institutional, socio-economic, financial and technological nature of the evolution of the energy sector. This activity is accompanied by the collection, analysis, re-elaboration and posting of energy-related data, on an ad hoc web page.
Dissemination and training activities include an engagement and awareness-raising activity for new generations - the “Energy4YOUth” initiative - through a continuous and constructive dialogue with the Italian academia and a series of lectures held by IAI researches to university students . Furthermore, the six-month “ENI sustainable energy scholarship” offers the possibility to elaborate a Master’s thesis at the Institute – with the mentoring of the Energy, Climate and Resources Program team – on topics concerning environmental sustainability and energy as a driving force for the promotion of development and cooperation.
The project furthermore foresees meetings with international guests to foster the debate on these topics.
