Allargamento e Politica estera e di Sicurezza dell'Ue

Lo IAI, tramite il network EU-Consent ha partecipato alla 10° Conferenza biennale dell' EUSA, svoltasi a Montreal il 17-19 maggio 2007. In particolare l'Istituto ha ideato e presieduto il panel 2B: "The effects of enlargement on EU foreign and security policy" (Chair: Gianni Bonvicini), che ha analizzato due tematiche: l'allargamento dell'Ue ed i suoi effetti sulla politica estera europea da una parte, e la Politica europea di vicinato dall'altra. Nell'ambito del panel sono stati discussi vari papers:

• EU enlargement and the changing nature of European security, Adrian Treacher (University of Sussex)
• Building security in the EU's neighbourhood through the European Neighbourhood Policy, Michele Comelli (Istituto Affari Internazionali)
• Is there a common institutional discourse on the ENP?, Beatrix Futak-Campbell (University of Edinburgh)
• Difficult steps to the enlargement of the European Union (some legal aspects), Maja Smrkolj (Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law)
