Gli autori sono invitati ad affrontare temi che spesso ricevono scarsa attenzione da parte dei media, da quelli economici, politici, sociali a quelli di sicurezza e culturali, senza restrizioni geografiche. Gli articoli possono essere proposti in qualsiasi momento inviando al direttore della collana una proposta di titolo e un breve abstract di non più di 200 parole. Pubblicati sul sito IAI a cadenza continua, gli IAI Commentaries hanno una lunghezza massima di 1.500 parole. Per maggiori dettagli si vedano le editorial guidelines.
